Orthodynamics announces successful reclassification for their joint replacement product range
As from the 1st September 09, Orthodynamics is pleased to announce the successful reclassification of their total joint replacement range, following the implementation and amendment of the directive 2005/50/EC.
Reclassified products:-
Cannulok®Plus – A unique combination of modular revision hip prosthesis with locking intramedullary nail.
Logic® femoral stem and centraliser – A polished double tapered cemented stem for total hip replacement and hemiarthroplasties.
LMT femoral stem – A cemented femoral stem based on the established Muller principles.
Femoral heads – Orthodynamics’ complete femoral head range incorporating cobalt chrome, stainless steel and ceramic options.
Orthodynamics is also pleased to confirm that it will continue to distribute the SERF Novae dual mobility system for persistent dislocators.
The following devices have not been reclassified, and remain Class IIb products. These products cannot be used for total hip replacement, but their continued usage in hemiarthroplasty surgery is not affected.
Multi-Centre – A cementless femoral stem for hemiarthroplasty indications.
System I – A cemented femoral stem for hemiarthroplasty indications.
